You have to pay for pop3/smtp with yahoo mail, free accounts can only use the web interface.

From Yahoo help:
Quote:
The ability to access Yahoo! Mail via a POP3 email client (such as Outlook or Outlook Express) is only available to customers of our premium Yahoo! Mail Plus service. If you have not purchased the Yahoo! Mail Plus service, you will be unable to retrieve messages via an email client.

Configuring Hotmail account in Outlook Express is not difficult, it doesn't work in the standard way and you don't need the POP3/SMTP server address. The "add new account" wizard will fill in the necessary information automatically if you specify a Hotmail account. I will explain the details if you still have configuration problems.

But Microsoft has announced months ago: it will disable the free access from Outlook Express, that means you have to pay like yahoo mail, although I still can access my accounts with Outlook Express, many people have complained they can't use it anymore, so, it's just a matter of time.

I would strongly suggest you try Gmail, it's the best one in every aspect I can see.

Is there a reason why you have to use "those" e-mail services? I believe Gmail is the best in the business at the moment. I can send you an invite if you want.

No reason, but it's really easy to set up hotmail with Outlook Express or Outlook. If you enter your hotmail address, OE or O should just configure the rest automatically ...
