Default language in spell check is wrong

I've already posted this in the Powerpoint forum, but no one is replying, so I apologize for the double post. Hopefully someone here can help me?

My son has a PC with the OS set up in French. He has Microsoft Office in French, thus Powerpoint is in French.

But when he uses the spellcheck on this French Powerpoint, the spellcheck is in English. What I mean is, all the words he types in French get underlined as misspelled (even the ones which are correct), and the spellcheck only provides options in English. This is not happening in his (also French version of) Word, which provides word options in French. He is using Office 2010 for Windows 7.

My son specifically uses a computer because he's dysorthographic, so it's important I get this figured out!

I've gone into "languages" and the default language is French. Any ideas why Powerpoint's spellcheck is not checking in French?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. - Amy

Hi Amy,

Try following the instructions on this link:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/po...010354780.aspx

I quote them here because it is quite a long article:

Note If the language is preceded by the Spelling & Grammar icon, it means that the dictionary and spelling checker, are installed for that language. If the language is not preceded by the Spelling & Grammar icon, the dictionary for that language is not available and you cannot check the spelling for that language.
Let us know how you get on...
