Copying autotext
Hello Everyone!
I have been attempting to copy my autotext from one pc to another and running into trouble. In Word 2000, I go to tools, templates and add ons, organizer, click on autotext. I see all my text in the normal.dot and then it asks me "Do you want to overwrite the existing autotext entry?" I'm just trying to save it to a thumb drive and then transfer that data to my new pc. Hi Patty,
You could simply copy Word's Normal.dot file from your existing PC to the new one, using Windows Explorer.

Hi Patty,
In Word, look in Tools|Options|File Locations > User templates. That's the folder where Normal.dot should be found. Copy it from there and into the corresponding location on the new PC. Word should be closed during the copying process.
