I installed MS Office 2010 Pro but have since uninstalled it due to little activity. Problem is, even though the program doesn't exist anymore, I keep getting an unwanted web page (technet.microstoft.com) whenever I use my browswer and even though it is not the home page that I have appointed. I have cleared cache and cookies but it still persists. How do I get rid of it?

Hi joe,
If this is coming up as you home page, simply change the home page to whatever you want it to be via Internet Explorer (Tools|Internet Options|General). If that's not the issue, please provide more details.

No, this is not my appointed home page, although it will pop up as my home page naturally unwanted. It seems to be a page for Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Pro Plus Activation of some sort. I have very few, if any, MS products on my computer because of their unwanted controllable factors. I just can't get this page to go away, even after removing cookies, and clearing cache. I have searched for it but cannot find any file on my computer which will lead me to any solution. Thanks for the help.

Hi joe,
In your first post, you mentioned the MS Technet page. That suggests you might have a Technet subscription, which really isn't anything to do with MS Office (though MS Office is a significant feature there). Do you have any addins installed that might be redirecting you there? Quote:

The next time it pops up I will capture the address and you can view the page for yourself. Maybe it will help. I have no add on from Microsoft that would invoke this page. I uninstalled MS Office with Perfect UnInstaller using the original uninstall program.

Fortunately, I have never had a problem with PU but I also purge my registry of any left over files connected with any uninstalled program. Here is the address to the page I was referring to:
/technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/ee691939.aspx?LCID=1033&MSG=1&PID=02260-018-0000106-48917 |

Hi joe,
It would seem, then, that you do indeed have Office 2010 components on your system and that Perfect UnInstaller has done less than a perfect uninstallation ...
