For 7 years, I've been using an Intel i5 to create graphics-rich documents for our family-run business, especially Word and PowerPoint. When I got a new HP Elitebook with AMD Ryzen 5 and opened documents created on the old PC to continue working on them, all color fonts are black and cannot be changed to color, making it impossible to use these programs now. Also, some other aspects of the graphics were screwed up, like shifting alignment, etc. In Excel, data was lost, and some entries were repeated dozens of times, replacing what was originally in those cells. Oddly, in Publisher, I can still use color fonts.
Even if I try creating new Word or PPT documents on the new AMD PC, the problem is the same; nothing but black fonts available. I've updated the AMD graphics drivers directly from AMD and verified I have the latest Office updates. I thought there was no incompatibility between AMD and Intel graphics, but I don't know any other reason I would be unable to use my Office apps. Has anyone seen an issue like this and found a solution? At this point, it looks like I will have to return the new PC and go with Intel again. |
