Default Switch off Backup to OneDrive popups.

I have Windows 11 24H2 and Office 365 and still get annoying prompts to back up office documents to OneDrive periodically.
I never want to do this, but do need to keep OneDrive as I upload some folders to OneDrive manually for use elsewhere.
Is there a way to permanently stop these prompts. I am afraid I might accidently click on the backup if I am distracted?

Hornblower,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this does not solve the issue as far as I can tell.
None of my folders are set to sync to OneDrive and I do not actually have it running in the background unless I am specifically uploading files, but it still gives me popups from time to time asking if I want to backup Office Files to OneDrive.
So far, I think the only way to stop this is to completely remove OneDrive from my system. I thought I heard that in 24H2 there was going to be a feature to stop the popups, but I can't find it.

I uninstalled OneDrive as soon as I could, so I haven't see the nag banners. But it really seems to be intrusive. This Microsoft Answer thread is two years old, 13 pages, and people are still adding "Me Too!"s. No solutions that seem reasonable and no mention of an option to disable.

That may not be completely true. It's set to autorun and may be there anyway. Do you know how to use autoruns to check?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I know about autorun.
OneDrive is disabled at start-up and is not in the running process list.

Registry hack?

Not sure, but I don't think it does anything except stop the autorun. Sorry but I can't test and I'm NOT installing OneDrive to find out.
