Default Office 2007 won't run

I recently upgraded my laptop from Vista to Windows 7, but unfortunately it removed all of my program files from the Vista installation (including MS Office 07). It did, however store the old installation in a separate folder on the hard drive, so I figured I'd just copy & paste the Microsoft Office folder from "C:\Windows.old\Program Files (x86)\" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\", and also from "C:\Windows.old\Program Files\" to "C:\Program Files\". However, whenever I try to run any of them, this error message pops up:
Quote:
The operating system is not presently configured to run this application.
I have a feeling it has something to do with the registry, but I don't know what. Anyone have suggestions?

Default Office 2007 Registry Error

1. Go to Add/Remove Programs and remove everything associated with MS Office.

2. Reboot.

3. Do a search online for MS Office 2007 Resource Kit and download it (they are available on microsoft's website if you can ever find them. Probably just easier to Google it).

4. Run the 2007 Resource Kit. Use the Removal Wizard.

5. Select delete ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS of MS Office. It will delete a list of files.

6. Next, manually delete the files that are still left behind. Delete these folders -

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE11 (or "OFFICE")
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\OFFICE

After this you should be able to re-install correctly without the error you are receiving.

Hope this helps.

This issue occurs if some of the files of the previous Office programs remains in the registry settings of your computer.
For this, you need to remove the MS office program completely from your computer manually.
Please follow the below link to fix the issue.
