Working offline when internet is down
Just upgraded to Office 365 Personal from Office 2007. Beginning to think this was a big mistake. It does not seem possible to work offline, other than in read only mode. What happens if the internet is down. Can't access vital documents etc. Could not even change to a different tab in excel. Am I doing something wrong, or is this the new policy? After doing more research I discovered that you can't log out of Office without deactivating the product. I naively assumed that you could just log out and continue working like in many other applications. So it seems that you can use Office 365 for a month after the last time you were connected to the internet without it de-activating. Personally, since I have paid for a year's subscription, I think I should be able to use the product for a whole year without worrying about re-activating or not. Another thing - it does not remember the password like on browsers, so you have to enter it manually. This was a nuisance, as the password was in an Excel document which I could not read, the account being de-activated. I could not even move to the tab that contained the password in read only mode. This doesn't answer your question but you should clarify the following confusion to allow others to help you: -
You state 'Office 365' but your profile shows 'Office 2021'. These are different animals. See What'''s the difference between Microsoft 365 and Office 2021? 'Office 2021' is a one-time purchase whereas 'Office 365' is a subscription service. Good luck. |

Thanks for your reply, an I was aware Office 2021 is different to Office 365.
However, there was not an option that I could see to set to Office 365, so I chose Office 2021 as the best option. Perhaps the administrators will address this - unless I missed the option somewhere. |
