Default HELP do I have a virus - MS Office not working

All of a sudden when i open word, or powerpoint, or anything in my office 2007 suite, it will freeze after a couple of seconds of it being open and comes up with a message "microsoft word (or whatever app it is) has stopped working" then it follows up with "windows will try to find the problem..." but it never finds a problem and just shuts down (or keeps frozen).

HELP I really need these apps to work. Do I have a virus? There are no other problems with my comp and I am protected by McAfee.

I tried to restart, shut down computer. No help.

You could simply do a restore? Or maybe you installed something new? printer, webcam...then simply uninstall it

That's not 'too' uncommon a thing to see in Windows, so don't worry about viruses (though if you want to be sure, Google 'Malwarebytes' and run the free version to check.)

I'd probably just run the Office installer again and ask it to repair Office.

Default Possible help for your MS Office apps

Have you checked to see if your apps need updates. Microsoft puts out updates for their productivity software just like they do.

If you click the 'Office' button, and scroll down the menu and click 'Word Options,' the 'Word Options' dialog box will open. Click 'Resources,' and then click 'get updates' or possibly try 'run Microsoft Office Diagnostics'.

Hope this is of some help to you.
