Default HOW TO REINSTALL OFFICE ON WIN 7 COMPUTER - Error code 30102-11 (1601)

Major challenge -

have Win 7 computer & had Office 2007 running well

then had to delete Office because file got corrupted

the challenge now is to install any version of Office - esp. 2007 or 2016

every install attempt encounters probs. - either "encounters errors" fast or Office 2016 throws up Error code 30102-11 (1601) just before end of install.

Have tried everything - running Microsoft Support & Recovery Assistant - deleting every ref. to Office in registry with regedit - no matter how clear of Office computer appears to be, attempts to install encounter probs

Friend says out-of-date Win 7 wh. hasn't been updated for some time, may be source of prob.

Just wondering if any tech genius here has ideas how to get round probs. May be too old Win 7, but from googling, many have had similar probs

Many thx and lasting gratitude for any help.

P.S Have tried various versions of Office incl. 32 & 64-bit (I'm 64 bit) - don't think the version matters

I would suggest that you start by ensuring that Office is removed completely - Use Microsoft Office Removal Tool to Completely Uninstall Office | Gear Primer

Then try and install the 32 bit version of Office (regardless of which Windows version you have), for which you will need the media and the product key.
