How to clean instal office 2019?
Hi,
i have UNINSTALLED old 2010 office... then i installed 2019 office and now that piece of .... has recovered somehow all my emails! WHY. Ive deleted manualy all files it has left in appdata/local/microsoft/outlook/ and still ALL broken email has been restored... i am literaly furious. How can i solve this issue, i wanted clean instal, but it doesnt give me any option to choose if i want clean or not. Or where can i find folder with settings for outlook so i can delete it manualy - because it always gets back all email somehow. Thanks. |

The installation process does not delete your personal files. If you don't want them, File > Account Settings > remove account(s) should eliminate them. However if you connect to the account server and there are mails there to be downloaded, reconnecting to the account will download them or access them depending on the connection method. You could connect to the account via web access and make whatever changes you require there to stored e-mails.

Uninstalling Office (or most other applications for that matter) does not delete your data. Not only that, uninstalling Office doesn't delete any of your customisations. How would you like it if uninstalling Office deleted all your Word documents, Excel workbooks, etc., etc.? Why should emails be any different?

therefore it should be clean instal afterwards, why is it not? I am not talking about uninstaling program and that program should delete all files created by it - that is so bad comparsion... I was simply frustrated that there is not option for fresh instal - u should be able to do clean instal. Settings password for an email etc - that should be option in instalation, which is not, and not even that, you cant even choose folders for data or choose instalation folder. |

As clean install is a clean install of the application; nothing more, nothing less. No application I'm aware of deletes data files & user settings during a clean install. Your expectation is peculiar, to say the least.

Oh no you are wrong my dude.
You have to read whole topic not only part of it which suits your agenda. Ive deleted manualy all files it has left in appdata/local/microsoft/outlook/ and still ALL broken email has been restored... i am literaly furious. this is sentence right after the one you have quoted. Noted, my english is not the best and it may have confused you that it was done as "next step", but no, ive uninstalled and deleted data files and it still recovered email settings along with password. This is really some next level fanboy ive never seen, truth be told. You also could simply write: Outlook doesnt allow you to delete manualy all files since its really bad program, you are not allowed to do with your data what you want. Not only office doesnt allow you to change instalation folder it doesnt allow you to do ANYTHING and we in this forum will never tell you straight up that. Quote:

Also you can close or delete this thread, since none of your replies were helpful. |

You're also quite obviously determined to blame Microsoft for your obstinate refusal to accept what a clean install is and is not. Deleting an unwanted Outlook pst file is simple for those who bother to find out where it's located. Clearly, you had not done that; otherwise there'd be no past emails for the new installation to find. Thread closed.
