Operating system Windows 10.
Office 2016 failed to start error 0xc0000142. I found suggestion on this forum to use the office fix tool in control panel. Quick fix didn't work and I used the internet option. The fix apparently reinstalled Office 2016 and when i try to activate it using the original product key. The activation fails indicating the product key is not the right key. Is there a way around this problem short of manually reinstalling office and possibly loosing my calendar items and contacts? |

My apologies, The product key I entered was for 2013 not 2016.
Operator error, Problem solved. |
