Default Transferring contacts and calendar

I'm an Outlook 2007 newbie. I want to treat one computer as the master and the other as a slave. Periodically I wish to update contacts and calendar from master to slave (ie, a simple replacement). I do not wish to affect the email stored on slave. I've read that importing is not the way to do it. Is there a step by step procedure somewhere? I'm thinking that I should copy the outlook.pst file from master to appropriate folder of slave first. I should probably do a File/Data File Management next. Am I on the right track? A detailed step by step procedure would be much appreciated. Thanks

Pete
