![]() Can anyone out there tell me what is the earliest version of office that I Can get? I need one that works with .docx formats and runs on windows 7. All I need is word. my word 2003 doesn't work with .docx formats and libreoffice doesn't preserve the bookmarks that are needed in the documents I work with. Hope that's enough information. |

To my knowledge Office 2007 was the first to use the docx format

Word 2003 with the Office Compatibility Pack will also work with docx files, but Office 2003 is no longer supported and MS will be discontinuing the Office Compatibility Pack in April.
Why do you need 'the earliest version of office' that works with docx files? Why not something more recent? As for where you might get one, try ebay - but caveat emptor (there's a lot of people selling invalid OEM copies of Office).
