Default 2 printer icons

I would like to have 2 printer icons in each of my MS Office programs. (One icon for each of 2 printers).

14 years ago our support person set up 30 computers with such a capability using Win 98. I know that she used macros to accomplish this. However I have since found myself unable to take the time to learn macros sufficiently to repeat this. A Google search for "2 printer icons" offers no solutions.

So, I ask for help here in a simple solution in writing macros to solve this. This solution would also work for a single printer with multiple trays.

BTW, I am amazed that this solution is not already solved by MS or a shareware/freeware vendor. I have seen lots of people asking for this.

Thanks, Dan D

Could you give a little more detail as to exactly what it is that you are trying to achieve - why is it that you want to have two printer icons?

I have two printers. Sometimes I print to Printer A (default). Sometimes to Printer B.
I would like to not have to go File>Print>Dropdown>Select>OK when I print to Printer B.(because I have to do that alot).
So, I want 2 dedicated printer icons in my toolbar.
I hope that helps.
Thanks

Dan

have you tried doing this with the macro recorder? Turn on the recorder, give the macro a name (no spaces allowed). Select the printer, print, then Stop Recording.

To add a button to a toolbar: View > toolbars > customize. Go to the middle tab I forget what it is called. In the left pane, scroll to find Macro. In the right-pane, see your macro name. Drag this button to a toolbar. You can use the Modify Selection button to Change Button Image.

Sorry I am on a different version and saying this from memory.

Repeat the process for the other printer.

Sorry I am not able to test this at this time. Hope it works.
