I brought my PC up yesterday and noticed that my desktop no longer had workable Office icons. I tried to reinstall Office but found that components of the old installation were still on my PC. I removed these components using a MS utility and then reinstalled Office. I went to look for the Office executables so that I could send to desktop. I couldn't find the executables. I then did a search on the folders Program Files and Program Files (x86) for winword.exe. My PC is a 64 bit machine. My search did not find the executable. I then did the same search using *.exe with the same results. I did the searches at a high enough level that all subfolders should have been included. Either I am not looking in the right path or the installation did not complete properly. Any suggestions?
