Default Run Office 2016, receive updates to 2013

I run Office 2016 (64 bit) ever since it was released but still keep getting updates to Office 2013. The latter is not installed, however I have two Office folders in Program Files: Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office 15.

First I worried that these updates come instead of those to Office 2016. Then I was advised that my version of Office 2016 keeps updating via OfficeClickToRun, and those don't appear among Installed Updates. Hence, hopefully, I don't need to change the updates just turn those to Office 2013 off. How to do that?
Thanks a lot.

The ClickToRun versions of Office are for Office 365, which started life as Office 2013 and has morphed into Office 2016. If you had Office 365 before Office 2016 was released, that may explain the updates for Office 2013. The fact you have a program folder for:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15"
and not for:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16"
suggests the Office 2013 edition of Office 365 is what is installed on your system.

Thank you but, I'm sorry, I still can't see clearly.

When I open 'Account' from Word, it shows 'Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016'.
And under 'Office Updates' it says 'Updates are automatically downloaded and installed'. When I click on 'Update now' it says 'You're up to date! The latest version of Office is installed on your computer.'

Is it not what it seems to be?
Do I actually run Office 2013 and get updates through the regular channel? For that I opt to 'Notify me but I choose when to install' and I don't install the updates to Office 2013 as to my best knowledge I run Office 2016.

I suspect what's going on here is that your updates are all applied to your original Office 365 edition of Office 2013, which has morphed into Office 2016 without changing the Office 2013 references. I'd be inclined to leave it alone.

Just to make sure I understand you correctly. I do run Office 2016, v16 and get the updates to it without any notice. And it's not worth bothering with the superfluous updates to the preceding edition, just ignore, not install them.

Thank you very much.

I'd be inclined to say, rather, that whichever Office updates you're now being offered are most likely applicable to your current installation, regardless of the version references.

So, I'd better install everything I'm offered.
Thank you very much for your advice.

In case somebody encounters the same issue:I needed to locate and eliminate msoia.exe
As I found out this is not part of Office 2013 but relates to it.

msoia.exe is an "Office Telemetry Agent" that is part of Microsoft Office 2013. It was most likely installed because whoever installed Office 2013 on your system accepted an option to let Office gather data about how you use it and periodically send the data back to MS. MS has been rolling out a lot of these as 'recommended' updates without explicitly telling users that's what they are; instead they just get given obscure Windows Update descriptions such as "Install this update to resolve issues with Windows". Many people regard them as no better than spyware.

Thank you for the explanation.
Is there any way to know which updates are of this kind, I don't mean Office only but anything from Microsoft? If so, and I find any of them on my system, can I individually uninstall them?

A web search for:
"Windows 8" "telemetry update"
should turn up a list you can work with. Do be careful, though, as some of the lists I've seen - including some in code that is supposed to delete telemetry updates - include updates that have nothing to do with telemetry, including updates to Windows Update itself. Check each listed update against the full description MS gives of it on the Windows Update site before trying to uninstall it. AFAIK, all unwanted telemetry updates can be uninstalled via 'Installed Updates' in the Control Panel.
