It's hard to believe the spell-checker doesn't work for you on multiple versions of Office on different computers using different profiles unless you and/or your system administrator are seriously misconfiguring something.

Simply telling us it doesn't work isn't particularly helpful without telling us exactly what regional settings your computer uses and how the spell-check functions for Office, etc. are configured.
