non techie needs help
Normally I would just ask my daughter but since she has moved out I have to find a new information source.
First I need to change where my documents are saving to conserve the space on my C drive. Can I keep Office installed on C but have it save documents to D? As I use all the programs in the suite information for changing it in all programs would be appreciated. Next - I keep changing the language on my keyboard (laptop) from english to the french lettering that is written in green on some of the keys and I have no idea how I am doing it. Is this a word "problem" or something to do with my keyboard? See told you I was a non-tech thanks elaine |

Yes, you can save your documents to D:, just select a directory on D: in the save file dialog. If you are editing an old file, use 'File > Save As...' instead.
The shortcut keys for switching keyboard input are usually CTRL+Shift or CTRL+Space, maybe you pressed them by accident? If you don't use a certain language, you can disable it. This link is about how to adding a language, it's easier to remove one, just select one and click on Remove button. |

I don't think there is a default place, but when you save a new document, the save file dialog will display the same place you used last time, it's better than 'default place'.

default save location
ok, I has assumed there was a default location setting since everytime I save a document it automatically offers the "Documents" file on C. Any steps i can eliminate are always welcome.
