Default standalone access 2016 with bundled Office Family and Student 2016

Hi MS Specialists,

I bought Office Family and Student 2016, and Access 2016, separately (I had no use of the other products in the Pro package); apparently they are mutually exclusive:

"We’resorry, Microsoft Office installer encountered a problembecauseyou have these Click-to-Run installer based Office programs on your computer:
Microsoft Office Famille et Etudiant 2016 –fr-fr
Windows Installer and Click-to-Runeditions of Office programs don’tgetalongwiththis version, soyoucanonly have one type installed at a time."

So... what can I do ? Is it possible to upgrade from Family & Student to Pro ? any other idea (you easily will understand that I'm looking for the cheapest yet effective solution)

Thanks for you help

Software for the stand-alone and subscription versions of Office can't be used together. From the error message, it appears you already have the subscription version installed. In that case, you could:
• return the stand-alone software (Access?) to where you purchased it for a refund. You can then upgrade your subscription to whatever level is required for the additional functionality; or
• cancel the subscription, uninstall the software, then install the stand-alone version of Office Family and Student 2016 - your vendor may even be willing to take back your existing stand-alone copy of Access in exchange for the purchase of a suite that already includes it.
Which course of action will best meet your needs largely depends on what the pricing structures are for each of these options, plus whether you have a preference for stand-alone over subscription or vice-versa.

Thank you for your answer.
I guess the second option should be the best one, because I could then add additional software like Project or Visio if necessary. Having read some forums, it seems to be quite a nightmare to install them alongside a subscription of other products. I therefore think to exchange my version of Office. Unfortunately, Amazon, where I bought my version of Office (I got a coupon so bought it there), doesn't seem to sell "real" installer. Just boxes with a card bearing the license number. Any idea ?

You might need to ask Amazon directly regarding what kind of returns policy they might have.
