Hello everyone

Does anyone know of a review that compares the various classic menu programs for Office 2010 or similar? A quick google gets me three options on the first page of results, namely those of UBit (the first one, AFAIK, from the days of Office 2007 already), AddInTools and DeltaVision. Does anyone have any experience with one or more of these products?

Thanks
Samuel

I'm trying them all, and the first lesson is:

Don't install DeltaVision's product. It looks very similar to UBit's menu, except you have to click a button each time you want to use the menu, and the menu floats in an odd way that extends beyond the window. Plus, it is very difficult to uninstall (you have to find the file "dvWord2010ClassicMenu.dotm" in C:\ Users\ yourname\ AppData\ Roaming\ Microsoft\ Word\ STARTUP and delete it).

Don't believe the screenshots on the DeltaVision web site... this is what it really looks like:

Both have working uninstallers. AddInTools' menu looks a little better, but the buttons are sometimes less responsive than UBitMenu's.

You are not going to recreate the Word 2003 menu system with any of these tools, which all simply modify the ribbon to provide a fixed series of menus. You would be far better employed learning your way around the ribbon and learning to modify it to provide the collections of commands that your require for your own work practices.
