Office 2007 enterprise with a volume licence needed
I have several copies of Office 2007 enterprise used on windows 7.
we are upgrading to a server with Server 2012 r2 and using remote CAL's unfortunately we cannot use the copies we have. Apparently we need to have a single volume licence for this to work. Is there any way i can trade my existing keys in and get a volume licence? does anyone know any other option to get our current version to work? we do not want to upgrade to a newer version at this time. Thanks for your help. Last edited by michaelSeib; 12-06-2015 at 08:38 AM. |

As extended support for Office 2007 Enterprise ends on 10/10/2017 and Microsoft will soon be rolling out Server 2016, I'd have to wonder why you'd be trying to upgrade to Server 2010 and hanging on to Office 2007 at this stage.
Can't answer your questions, though. You might be able to re-sell the Office 2007 Enterprise licenses on fleabay, but its limited support might mean there won't be much interest.

We are using server 2012.
We use office 2007 because we have some custom plugins for it. We see no need to upgrade office even if the support ends. Not only would it cost a lot but we would also have to have our plugins updated. |

If you're using Server 2012, how is moving to Server 2010 an upgrade?
Testing may reveal that your plugins work OK with Office 2013, or only require minor revision.

Typo. We are going to server 2012 r2.
If at all possible we want to stick with pur current version of office. I understand that testing may recall that only minor changes are required. However it is still time and it may end up not being minor |

Since you're going to a new Server version, you should be re-testing anyway. Ultimately, the choice is yours:
(1) retest/revise with Office 2013 on the new Server, then spend some money upgrading to Office 2013; or (2) spend some money migrating Office 2007 (for which you probably can't buy a volume licence from MS anyway) and - (2a) retest; (2b) not retest and take your chances.
