Default Which Office program to use to find a day/date

I need to be able to easily find a range of dates in the future from any given date. For example I need to schedule a test of some equipment not less than 20 days or not more than 40 days from the previous test. I have not been able to do this on my own via searches through my Office software, Can someone here direct me to the solution?

How about using Excel for this. Check out the DateDif function that can accomplish exactly what you are looking for. Syntax: =Datedif(datefield one, datefield two, "YY")
where the last option can also be "DD" as in days. This will give you the difference in days.

In Excel, all you need do is type the date in one cell, the number of days offset in another, then sum the two just like you'd do with any other two values. It can also be done in Word, but nowhere as easily as in Excel.

The Datedif function calculates the difference between two dates - it doesn't really aid in calculating dates.

Agree Paul, but you can use the result in an IF statement and then use this to calculate the difference. You technique is shorter and more efficient. OP has a choice

Default Thank You

I was making that way too hard, but searches for help on Office programs were not productive either. A bit of formatting to get the results to display as I wanted and practicing on functions got me where I wanted to go with your assistance!
