Smile Using a product key finder to transfer MS from PC to Mac - risky?

Hello there,

So i have MS student and office 2010 already installed on my windows PC, however i have lost the product key!
I used magical jelly bean and belarc to find my key - which both gave me the same key.
I was then going to uninstall MS on my pc to then install it to my Mac - however i am worried that the product key wont work and then i'll be left with MS on neither device!!
Also as my mac doesnt have a DVD drive i assume that i can use the online downloader? and that my existing MS version is compatible with mac?

Does anyone have any advice?

thanks so much in advance!!

I doubt a PC key would be valid on a Mac unless you're running a Windows app on the Mac via Parallels or something such. The same applies to installing a Windows app on a Mac. Windows apps cannot natively be run on a Mac or vice-versa. The only apps that can come with libraries for both platforms. Office is not such an app.
