Default Convert Office 365 Personal to HOME??

I have already have Office 365 Personal on my desktop PC but have just purchased a new laptop. I want to convert my Office 365 Personal to Office 365 Home so that I can use that. I spoke by telephone to one of the Microsoft reps but he simply could not understand what I wanted to do or how to do it. I can find NOWHERE on the Microsoft website that addresses this.

Are these my only options: purchasing either another Personal subscription (resulting in two subscriptions, with differing expiry dates!!) or purchasing a Home subscription now for my laptop, then adding my PC when the current Personal edition expires?

I don't mind that second option too much, with the BIG exception that it appears that all my Outlook email from my current Personal addition will be lost when I add my PC to the Home edition!!!

Does anyone have insight into this "tangled web Microsoft has weaved"?? (PS I know it should be "woven" but I'm quoting the words from Sir Walter Scott.) Did they never consider that someone would want to do this?

Since Office 365 Home includes Outlook, I don't see what the concern is on that front. Upgrading from Office 365 Personal to Office 365 Home should not affect any of your data. All the same, you should make backups of your data beforehand (and on a regular basis, anyway).

Thumbs up

You can upgrade from Personal to Home by buying at Microsoft Store (online) or any retailer. This converts your existing subscription to Home and adds on whatever time you've purchased of 365 Home, and all your existing PCs/tables/Macs will continue to work with no interruption.
