Default Upgrade to Office 2013?

Hi

I have been using a laptop running Windows 7 Professional with Office 2007 (Home & Student), plus Windows Live Mail.

I have just bought a new laptop (yippee!), with Windows 8.1. I have installed Office 2007, which is fine, and have tried setting up Outlook.com the same as Live Mail, but am struggling with it.

Should I buy Office 2010 / 2013 Professional (including Outlook), which will hopefully give me a more familiar environment? I don't mind spending the £££ if it gets me to where I want to be, rather than wasting my time struggling with Outlook.com...

Thanks in advance for your help!

Mike

If you're using Windows Live Mail, upgrading to Office 2013 won't make that any easier, since Windows Live Mail is not part of Office.

Thanks for replying, macropod

What I have been struggling with is setting up Outlook.com (included in Win 8.1) to work the in a similar manner to Live Mail. What I am hoping is that by installing MS Office (including Outlook), I can then use Outlook which will hopefully have a similar look to Live Mail, or the last time I used Outlook.

Once again, thanks for taking your time to look!

Mike

But Outlook is nothing like Windows Live Mail (available as a download from http://download.cnet.com/Windows-Liv...7_4-98282.html) or Outlook.com. If you want to see how different they are, take a look at some of the web sites that show screen shots of any of these apps' interfaces.
