My database of 1700 addresses was corrupted somehow. I found an old word file with all of the names and addresses on 1700 letters. Is there a way to get these addresses into one of the above programs without manually typing it in?

Probably, but without seeing how they're structured in the Word document, it's hard to say for sure or how much effort will be involved. Can you attach a document to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab.

I would need a wider range of sample data than for just one record - samples representing the whole range of possibilities would be required. The one you posted has only three address lines. If, for example, some letters go to people in companies or outside the US, I imagine you could have as many as eight address lines:
Addressee Name Position/Title Division/Branch Company Name Floor/Room/Unit Building Name Street Address City, State Zip Country
