macropod...within 12 hours of requesting a refund through Amazon's refund request page, I got a reply from the seller via Amazon confirming to Amazon that he would agree to a full refund, and that the software need not be returned. I guess he would want it back if it was a legal copy that could be sold again. I also got confirmation from Amazon that the cost plus shipping had been refunded to my credit card and should show up the next business day.
The process went much smoother than I expected. In their reply to my first email, in response to my describing the circumstances and quoting what you said about a pirated copy, or one that was one of a corporate group - either way illegal - Amazon said that they had forwarded the information to their appropriate in-house office, which I took to mean that the seller might be in trouble. Bottom line, all's well except that I need to go shopping again for a legal copy. Thanks again for your help. Optiker |
