word and excel not printing
I can't print a word or excel document.
PDFs & TXT files print fine Outlook will print. When I open the printer preferences in word or excel the profile is not the one set in the printer config page in Devices & Printers. For the other documents that do print the profile matches the D&P config. It is not the printer drivers, or the network connection, or the D&P config, or the Word Data key in the registry. Somehow Word & Excel don't really see the printer config but it tells me it is ready. What is it???????????????????????? |

Have you tried:
• repairing the Office installation (via Programs & Features > Microsoft Office > Change in the Windows Control Panel)? • uninstalling/reinstalling the printer driver? If this problem has only recently arisen, what other software have you installed/updated at around the same time as the problem started? Do Word & Excel have any 3rd-party Add-ins installed?

As I stated:
"It is not the printer drivers(1), or the network connection(2), or the D&P config(2), or the Word Data key in the registry." (1)=I have uninstalled and reinstalled the ptr drivers 4 times. (2)=I can print TXT files and pictures via Windowz Picture viewer and MSO OIS. I have uninstalled and reinstalled MS Office. Outlook says the printer isn't ready - after the job flashes in the print queue Word & Excel appear to print (job flashes in print queue) but nothing comes out the printer - any docx/xlsx files. I JUST FOUND ONE DOC FILE THAT PRINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So what is the dif in the file???????? When that file prints it remains in the print queue for a few seconds, the other files flash in/out in about 1/2 sec. - all r one page docs. This one has different font. If I make a change to the file it won't print. ALL files print from my computer. A Excel says there is an error. -- low memory, cable, network, drivers, .... xlsx or csv files. |

Furthermore, you haven't answered either of the questions I asked: Quote:
Does this affect all PCs on the network? Does this affect all printers on the network? If only one or a few users are affected: (a) what happens if they use a PC that is not otherwise affected? (b) what happens if someone else who is not otherwise affected uses the affected PC?

further troubleshooting reveals that the file that prints has caslon.... script font.
If I change ANY of the font to say Times New Roman it will not print. If I change any formatting, it does not affect the printing. So, what does the font have to do with whether it prints or not??????????????? |

It could mean some of your fonts are corrupt.
