I had to restore everything on my computer (Windows XP) and now I can't install Office 2000 and can't edit the existing files...word or excel. The files say they are Office 97 and Office 2000 says Error 1608 - "could not find any previously compliant producs on the machine for installing this product." What can I do? When I did the start up disk (ONLY ONE??) it put Office 2007 on, which is what came with my computer. I do not want that one because of the cost.
