Data corruption is a common problem with USB drives that are simply removed from their ports instead of first going through the 'safe eject' process. Your data-recovery program is probably the best option you have for the rescue, but some files may be irretrievably damaged. As always, you should be keeping backups of any important files as a safeguard against such events.
