Default microsoft office upload center msosync.exe

Hello i have installed ms office 2013. Everytime I startup my computer there is a process called "msosync.exe" (microsoft office upload center) that autostarts. I Went into msconfig > autostart but I couldn't find any object that matches msosync.exe .

I even Went to "services" in msconfig and disabled "office 64 source Engine" and "Office software protection platform" . But it keeps starting on every reboot.

I wonder what I should do to disable this msosync.exe autostart as I suspect when its on poeple can connect to my computer via that process.

I don't know where you get the idea msosync.exe will allow people to connect to your PC. To understand what it is & does, see: http://shouldiblockit.com/msosync.exe-9885.aspx
If, having read that, you're still keen to stop it, see: http://www.boostbyreason.com/resourc...osync-exe.aspx

Msosync.exe is the Microsoft Office Document Cache. It enables the caching of Office 2010 documents. For example, documents uploaded to SkyDrive are cached by msosync.exe in the local drive for faster viewing. That does not mean "when its on poeple can connect to my computer via that process". Given that your fears about what it does are unfounded and, in fact, it enhances your system's performance, why do you want to stop it? Doing so will degrade performance without providing any increase in security.

For detailed disabling instructions, see: http://en.stealthsettings.com/disabl...osync-exe.html

Hi i Went to http://en.stealthsettings.com/disabl...osync-exe.html and i read it. So I Went msconfig > autostart (startup) but COULD NOT find any office startup. Look at my attached screenshot . Is it possible that startup objects can be hidden in the startup field?

No, it can't be hidden. Given the few items in your StartUp configuration, it looks to me like you've started Windows in Safe Mode. That might explain why msosync.exe doesn't show.

In any event, I don't know why you're so concerned about this - msosync.exe is only a caching program that holds copies of files on your system. It does not allow anyone else to access your computer.
