Hi jineu21,
Win 8 is not the issue here. The issue is your Windows region settings and/or your Office language settings. Check both. The Office Mso1033.acl, Mso2057.acl, and Mso3081.acl language specific autocorrect files for US English,UK English and Aus English, respectively. You shouldn't try moving or renaming any of them. To transfer the settings from one system to another, see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926927
