Default Works to office question

Hi,

First forum post. I have a brand new computer with MS Works. Just purchased office home-student and outlook (it's in the mail). When I install it will it simply superceed my works or will I have to remove works? Also when I remove works will it automaticaly convert my existing documents when I open or save them? Some have mentioned keeping both on to be safe but I really don't want two different versions on my system.

Any help would be great thanks.
