Default Copy Office 2010 onto memory stick

Hi
I want to copy Office 2010 Pro Plus onto a memory stick using supplied discs; I need to know how much free storage capacity would be required on the memory stick.
Thank you
Denis

Hi Denis,

Office Professional Plus 2010 (x86): 650MB
Office Professional Plus 2010 (x64): 718MB

Note that this is just for the installation files. SP1 is additional.

Note also that MS Office cannot be run from a USB stick.

Hi Paul

Thank you for your reply. I want to transfer the software onto a netbook; will I be able to do this using a memory stick? If not, any ideas how I could do it.

Regards

Denis

If you mean transferring the installation from a PC/laptop onto the netbook, that won't work. Office places files in numerous locations on a computer, some of which must remain in those locations to work, and makes many changes to the Windows Registry.

If you simply want to install Office onto a netbook that lacks a DVD drive, you should be able to copy the Office DVD's contents to a USB stick and install onto the netbook from the USB stick. Because the DVD probably has both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Office on it, you might need about 1.5GB of free space on the USB stick to do that.
