If I buy a retail copy of MS Office Professional 2010 how many laptops can we install it on? Some people say 1 and others say up to 3.

It alls depends on which license you buy. See: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/bu...101825640.aspx? That said, all Office Pro licenses are single-user only. Office Home & Student has a household license, for up to 3 PCs, but that can't be used for business purposes.
