Number of allowable copies
I have Office installed on 3 machines and have used my quota for the version I bought. But I have now purchased a new computer which I would like to install Office on. If I uninstall Office from one of the other three machines, will I then be able to install it on the new computer? Any help appreciated |

Usually Microsoft permits a few extra installations to cover such scenarios. Try loading and see. If it will not allow you to register the installation online, then you are out of luck.
Also, you could contact Microsoft customer support and ask their help. |

Hi DRDR01,
Under the scenario you posited, you should be able to install the software on the new PC. Contrary to what Venky says: Quote:

I was told by MS that they allow 1 copy on a Desktop, and 1 copy on a Laptop.
So, one license can cover 2 PC's potentially. But not two desktops, and not two laptops, only one and one. |

That depends on which edition you have. Your description applies to Office Premium, for example, but not to Office Home & Student.
