Installing Office on different computer
hello. I apologize if this has been asked before- I did a forum search and couldn't find anything.
I just received my retina Macbook Pro and I'm trying to install my Microsoft Office 2011 (for Mac, obviously. I already have it running on my 2008 MBP). I can't find the disc so I downloaded the "free trial" from Microsoft, planning on just inputting my serial number. When I did this, it required at 25 digit code...but my code is only 20 characters. Everything appears to be identical- I don't think I downloaded a different version from the one I bought a year or so ago, so I can't figure out why I would be having issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can certainly deactivate the 2008 MBP if I need to, but I can't even figure out how to activate it on my new computer! tl;dr: have 2011 for mac installed on 2008 macbook. just purchased retina and downloaded trial from internet- asking for 25 digit code, but my serial number is only 20 digits |
