When I go to save a file from any of the 2007 Office apps and I click on the down arrow to change drives it comes back with a window that says something to the effect that it is initializing the folders in order to be read. If I save the file right away in the default location there is no delay. This can take upwards of 5 minutes to get the window to open and then if I need to change folders once I get to the right drive it is another wait.
I have a C & D internal hard drives and I also use an external 320GB external drive. It matters not if this is connected, it is always the same. I have hunted for a solution but can't seem to find one. This only happens to Office applications. I use several other applications and they all find the folders and/or drives right away. Thanks for any help you can offer. |

This is usually caused by mapped network drives. Disconnect all of them, or remap them if the network path has been changed.
