I am trying to add page number as # of # in the header. I could not find that option in page number dialog box. Can any body guide me to that dialog box?

Thank you.

hi apanbasu,

You can insert and format an ordinary page # via the Header/Footer Tab but, to get the 'Y' part of a 'page X of Y' expression, you need to use Insert|Quick Parts|Field, then choose either NumPages or SectionPages. Alternatively, You could press Ctrl-F9 to create a pair of field braces (ie {}), then type NumPages or SectionPages between the field braces, so that you end up with {NumPages} or {SectionPages}, then press F9 to update the field.

Thank you for the information. In 2003 - it was much simpler. I do not know why this version got so complicated.
Thanks again.
