2007 office key no longer works
Hi,
So my computer was running slow so I wanted reinstall the os and just get it all back to stock. I ran Belarc adviser and received all of my key code information for windows 7 and office 2007. Well Windows 7 installed fine but for some reason my code isn't working for my office 2007. Any thoughts? I have dl'd the software from a couple different places but they all tell me my code is invalid and I can't find my box or the original copy of the code. Thanks |

Try one of these programs to take a look at what your Registry is seeing...If Office installed, perhaps the key is there

zyzzyva57: After an OS reinstall, no keyfinder app is going to find the Office product key from the previous installation.
millertime: Are you sure you've downloaded the same Office 2007 edition as you had before?

I was working with this comment: "...received all of my key code information for windows 7 and office 2007..." and put them in
I fully realize a reinstall cleans out the registry, but I wanted him to establish what was in the registry now for his Office--why the "disconnect" apparently him having the correct keys and yet he cannot get into his Office Should we not provide help enough, and he has to call M$, I wanted him to be able to make his case so he would not have to re-buy a key or whatever |

If Office hasn't been activated since the System Restore - with a valid key - there still won't be anything for a 'Key Finder' to retrieve.

I concede
Though I find it interesting with this part of his question: "... I ran Belarc adviser and received all of my key code information for windows 7 and office 2007..." The more I re-read his question the more I must be mis-reading something: where did this Office Key Code that Belarc found come form? Could another problem be he is entering a letter, symbol, or number incorrectly, for example, an "o" for zero, or vice versa -- Things like that...As I recall, I think M$ Keys are long so a mix up would be possible, as well as being Case Sensitive |

Presumably from before the system was wiped.
