Default Adding new colors to Microsoft Office 07

I would like to know where I can go to add new colors like "Silver" and "Gold" to Microsoft Word 07 or any other Microsoft Office sites.

Hi DiamondDave,

In what sense do you want to add new colours (eg a new Office theme)?

Default Wanting more color options for all microsoft office programs

I want to know where I can get more colors to add to all the microsoft office programs. They all come with a standard set of colors but I want to get more colors like "Gold", "Silver" or whatever colors are out there.

Hi DiamondDave,

Colours where? For example, font colours, fill/border colours for autoshapes, etc? Note that Word already has the full RGB spectrum of colours for these. With fonts, for example, select 'More Colors' > Custom, from the font color dropdown.

Default More Colors

When I am talking more colors, I'm talking about the text color, page color and shading. As I've stated before I'm not just talking about Word, I'mm also talking about Power Point, Windows Live Movie Maker, Paint and other microsoft programs. I want more than the RGB spectrum of colors. I want to be able to get colors like "Gold", "Silver" and others without messing with the "Hue" to make custom colors. I want to be able to find the color, click on it, then get it.

Hi DiamondDave,

Each application will have its own provisions for what colours may or may not be available. As for:

The RGB spectrum covers every color possible. There are many versions of gold and silver, which are merely variations of yellow and grey, respectively. AFAIK there is no standard application for Windows, from any software maker, that will give you a simple selection box of some kind for any and every possible colour imaginable. Such a box would need over 16 million options.

FWIW, attached is an Excel spreadhseet containing conversions for Pantone colours to CMYK & RGB. (You'll need the analysis toolpack installed to see the RGB values).
