Install question of Office for new Windows 7 laptop
My laptop died on Friday and I got a new Windows 7 machine yesterday. We have a full version of Office 2003 and an upgrade version of Office 2007. Do I really have to install a 8 year old version on the Windows 7 machine just so I can then install a 4 year old upgrade on top of that? It seems like a way to install old problems on a clean new machine as well as being very time consuming. Yes, I'd love to just buy and install Office 2010 Pro but we're a non-profit and can't afford that if it can be avoided. Is there any way I can just go straight to installing the Office 2007 upgrade if I have both of the license keys?

hi Scott,
You need only install Office 2003 if you want both versions to be available. Otherwise, install Office 2007 and, when prompted for the qualifying product, simply insert the Office 2003 CD into the drive and tell the installer to look there.
