I presently own MS Office Home & Student 2007. I downloaded MS Office 2010, the trial version. I have since removed it but I notice there is a bunch of updates left behind. I notice these when I go into "Viewing updates" in Windows update.
Is there a way to get rid of these or should they be removed? Will this include removing NetFrame etc? |

Hi Andoheb,
Those updates will likely have been removed when Office 2010 was uninstalled. That doesn't change the update history, though, which is what you're viewing. The update history doesn't tell you what updates are currently installed - only which ones have been installed at some time.

Macropod, thanks for your reply. Since then this is only a history of what was installed, is there a way to see what is currently installed?

Hi Andoheb,
Windows doesn't come with any tools that show the status of updates in its history, but there may be a 3rd-party app that can. I imagine that analysing the status could become quite involved when parts of what's in one update are progressively replaced by parts of later updates - which may themselves be partly or entirely replaced.

Thanks again Macropod for your reply. I guess what you're saying is, that I can go into relax mode because what is showing in updates is indeed just history.
While I have you here, tell me what you think of upgrading from MS Office Home & Student 2007 to 2010. In your judgment, are these upgrades worth it. Thank you in advance for your time. |

Hi Andoheb,
Ofice 2010 certainly has some improvements over Office 2007. For the official blurb, see: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/pr...102459418.aspx. See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Office_14. For me the upgrade was certainly worthwhile, but YMMV.
