Default one trial version expired. Can I ....

I have a little disagreement with another person.
Topic :
If one has a say Office Home and Student 2010 trial version installed but now expired, can this person uninstall the expired version and then install a TRIAL version of Office Home and Business 2010 ?

I said no. MS won't let the person to do that.
Right or wrong ?

Thank you.

Sure you can - just don't expect it to function as anything other than an expired trial.

Please explain.
Are you saying that TRIAL version of Office Home and Business 2010 can be downloaded but it will not function ?

Is that what you mean ?

It will function the same as any other expired trial edition. That's because the Windows Registry will keep a record of the fact that an expired trial version of Office 2010 has been installed - even after the trial is uninstalled. That flag is only removed after you register whatever edition you want to install.
