WPX Office has taken over my word documents
I opened a document from an old file. It appeared to be scrambled. I had no success in opening it into a readable word format, until I accessed WPX Office. But then, WPX took over almost every file in my computer that contained word documents. And the tool bars are somewhat different. I don't like it. How do I reverse the process? Please. A quick way: right-click a .docx file, select "Open With...", then "Choose Another App...", select "Word 2007" and flag the box "Always Use This App...".
Do the same with a .doc, .docm file. Last edited by rollis13; 02-23-2022 at 03:30 AM. |

WPX Office taking over
The first response to my inquiry has worked very well. I didn't get rid of WPX but my documents are now in their original format, with the original tool bars. I feel better now. THANK YOU.

Glad having been of some help.
You didn't ask how to get rid of WPX (I have no idea on what it is) but the Uninstallation probably can be done from Control Panel like all other software installed in Windows. You could even try from your Start Menu and right-click the WPX icon (not it's folder). |
