infopath for timesheets & project management
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to set up a better system of timesheets for my team so that we can more easily monitor things like project budgets and fee earning vs admin time. From what i've read so far its seems clear that using an Infopath form for the timesheet would allow me to collate the timesheet data in an Access database, which would then allow me to run reports. What I'm still a little hazy on is exactly how this set up works and what other software components are required. So, a few questions... 1) How does the timesheet data get from the Infopath form to the database? 2) What software do the individual users need to complete the Infopath timesheet? (i've read that they don't necessarily need Infopath itself) 3) What software does the manager/adminstrator need to set up and run this system? (sharepoint?) I'm not looking for detailed instructions on how to set it up at this stage, more just the basic process and software requirements to get from a user completing their timesheet (Infopath form) to that data ending up database (Access). Once I've got my head around that basic stuff I can see whether we have the necessary software requirements to make this work or if we'd need to upgrade or purchase anything new. Thanks in advance for any help. |
