Default dynamic charts based on mail merge fields

Hi all,
i would like to use charts in word. These charts must be an active part of a mail merge file. More specifically, i want to make a chart that changes appearance based on mail merge fields. I haven't been able to do this.
What works is to make a table with mailmerge fields, and then make a chart out of this table. This works perfect for the first record.

That being said, the moment i switch to the next record, all mail merge fields change. The only exception is the chart derived from the fields. This remains to be the original chart from record 1.

Does anybody has any advice on how to proceed?
best
