Default Splitting subdocuments changes fonts

Hi -- having some real trouble, hope someone can maybe help?

So basically I have mail merged a form with different information for each recipient -- fine.

I have then gone to 'edit individual letters' to see all of my forms -- fine, but I need to have them in separate documents, not one long document.

I did however, set the form up so that the first line was level 1 and the rest was body text, so I go into outline view, select level one, select all of these and click show document and create, and then save, to create lots of different files, plus the master, into a designated folder -- fine.

However, when I come to open each of the new files, the font has complete changed (Calibri for main text and Times New Roman for text in a table, it would seem). How can I stop it from doing this?

Similarly, it seems to be adding extra spaces between lines. I tried to work around this by checking the box "Don't add a space between paragraphs of the same style", on the main document, but this doesn't seem to have worked.

Please -- any help is much appreciated.

Thanks
J

Hi j,

Evidently, you're copying the data into a file whose template differs from that of your mailmerge main document - or your mailmerge main document's formatting didn't respect the Style definitions in its own template (ie someone formatted the content without regard to how the Styles were defined).

To get the correct results, you need to make sure the Styles are appropriately defined. Alternatively, a different method of achieving the split is required (eg make copies of the entire document in Windows Explorer, then delete the unwanted Sections).
