mailto Hyperlink in MailMerge
I've looked around quite a bit and although I've found references on how to add a standard hyperlink via MailMerge, I've been unable to locate information about the correct way to set up a functioning mailto link. (or at least one the behaves as I want it to behave)
I thought that the correct syntax was: { HYPERLINK "mailto: «Invite_Email»" } ... but that isn't working correctly. I'm hoping for a hyperlinked e-mail address in the output file so that viewers will be able to click it and have their e-mail client open automatically. Any ideas? |

The same e-mail address (the first in my list) is showing up for every record.
And in the output file, when I click on the link (even though it's incorrect), the TO field in my mail client is blank. |

hi Rob,
You can't have personalised email addresses showing as the hypelink text for each recipient, so you need to: • insert an ordinary hyperlink into the document, with some standard text, like 'Click Here'; then • select the field, press Shift-F9 and edit the filed code by deleting everything after 'HYPERLINK' and inserting your mergefield, so that you end up with {HYPERLINK "«Invite_Email»"}. I'm not sure whether you need the 'mailto:'. You might try the merge without it and see if that works.
